Taking matters into their hands: Boatworks cleans up

The residents of the Boatworks community took matters into their own hands and removed the garbage, plastics and other marine debris that continuously litter the waterfront.

Michele Grusser a resident of the Boatworks community organized the initiative in celebration of Earth Day. Mayor Davis and other City officials visited to support the community’s effort.

The Boatworks community hopes to make the river bank clean up a regular exercise. The debris flows in with the tide and remains behind, a constant reminder of how littering in other communities impact other areas and the environment.

Dressed for the Holidays – our first community tree lighting

For the very first time the Boatworks Bayonne has its very own holiday tree thanks to community realtor Janice Hall of Weichert Realtors.

The 20″ tall blue spruce centrally located on Boatworks Drive is adorned with over 3000 cool white lights, the handiwork of Hall and a team of like-minded individuals who wanted to spread holiday cheer. The team including Boatworks resident Mike Beni of Beni Electric LLC, Rob Fahley of Pirate Landscaping, Tony Larino Vital Signs, Cindy Guarini Events to Perfection.

The community celebrated the occasion with a simple tree lighting ceremony streamed live to the residents and attended by representatives of the Bayonne City Council including President Sharon Nadrowski, Neil Carroll, Salvatore Gullace, Gary La Peluse Sr, Juan Perez and representatives of Boatworks Home Owners Association.

One of Boatwork youngest residents Sarah Beni and City Council President Nadrowski lit the tree.
